..I Choose Wellness

 

August is National Wellness Month and I encourage you to make a plan that includes daily wellness activities.  Every day you have a choice to be as healthy as you can be.  Choose wellness every day.  Make that conscious effort to take more steps, to move more, to breathe, to exercise, to eat more veggies, to drink more water, to get more sleep and to spend time smiling, laughing and being with friends and family.  To get you thinking, I have included a long list of simple activities you can integrate into your day.  Pick 30 of them and write them down in your calendar for August as a reminder to complete (each day).  Grab a friend and get them to do this with you!  Taking care of yourself is not selfish but it is the best way then to go out and take care of those you need to: your spouse, family members, friends, neighbors and even strangers. 

 

  1. Start your morning off by drinking warm lemon water.
  2. Drink 1 more glass of water.
  3. Journal for 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Meditate or pray.
  5. Go on a walk.
  6. Go on a run.
  7. Go on a bike ride.
  8. Swim
  9. Lift weights
  10. Get on a cardio machine in the gym.
  11. Sign up for a gym membership.
  12. Take a class at a local studio.
  13. Join in on my Yoga zoom classes (reach out if interested)
  14. Get a massage.
  15. Eat a vegetable at each meal.
  16. Eat a piece of fruit at the end of 2 meals.
  17. Call a friend
  18. Call a family member.
  19. Go out to lunch with a friend or family member.
  20. Take 3 deep breaths. 
  21. Roll out your yoga mat and stretch.
  22. Take an exercise class on YouTube.
  23. Find a bedtime routine that works for you.
  24. Get 7.5-8 hours of sleep.
  25. Get a facial.
  26. Think of 5 things you are grateful for and write them down or share with someone.
  27. Keep a spending journal (jot down everything you spend money on that day.
  28. Make a budget.
  29. Spend less time on social media.
  30. Read a book.
  31. Learn something new.
  32. Portion your food.
  33. Make sure you have colorful foods at each meal.
  34. Take a Pilates or barre class (mine, at a studio, gym or on YouTube).
